But where does this magical tradition come from?
Grand gong master and our teacher – Don Conreaux received wisdom from his teacher, Yogi Bhajan: 10 consecutive 40-minute gong baths could shift any blockage. Don combined these treatments into an all-night session, infused with ceremony and reverence.
The term “puja” originates from India, where ceremonies mark various traditional and family occasions, as well as honour specific deities. In daily life, pujas are conducted in homes and temples. They remind us that to connect with the divine or our highest self, we need conscious, symbolic actions that bypass our ego mind—devotion plays a crucial role.
What happens at gong ceremony?
During the Gong Puja, we use gongs as instruments to access a place of divine connection and healing. We create a sacred space (a gong temple) by wearing white, cleansing the energetic environment, and incorporating chanting, breathwork, and seasonal symbolism. Multiple players rotate, ensuring continuous meditative gong sounds.
The sheer volume of vibration absorbed during the puja is transformative. At a cellular level, the gong breaks up blockages and removes toxins. Energetically, it restores balance to the subtle body, enhancing the flow of prana (life force). Mentally and emotionally, the gong facilitates subconscious cleansing and spiritual insight.
As for what the Gong Puja will offer you, it’s a mystery. As you surrender to the soothing sounds, you may find yourself entering a state of profound meditation or experiencing a profound sleep like no other, where you are awake in a dream.
Benefits of participating in gong puja
During a gong puja, the benefits of a regular gong bath are amplified. By immersing yourself in the sound vibrations of a gong, you have the opportunity to heal, rebuild, unlock, and address mental, emotional, and physical issues.
Being in a theta state of deep relaxation and mental clarity, you may experience a profound sense of tranquillity and good health.
Additionally, a gong puja can boost energy and vitality. Participants have reported feeling refreshed and prepared to tackle the day, even if they didn’t sleep well during the puja night.

Is it for you?
Everyone will be welcome to join us. However, the Gong Puja is not necessary recommended for beginners, whether spiritually or in terms of gong healing experience. This profoundly spiritual event holds great transformative power, and attendees ideally should have prior exposure to Gong Baths or other Gong-related events. As a guideline, we recommend attending a minimum of two Gong Baths before experiencing our all night Gong Puja.

Event overview
On the evening of the 19th October, everybody is welcomed to gather together in the village hall, starting at 9PM, where we set up our sleeping areas, ready for the night ahead.
The event will begin with a sacred circle and the heart opening tea ceremony, creating safe and supportive space for all participants. We will then embark on a guided meditation led by Maria, helping to calm the mind and prepare for the journey ahead.
For a mesmerising 7.5 hours, Magdalena, Maria and Marta will gently play a variety of gongs, following the traditional Gong Puja format. This format involves continuous playing of the gongs throughout the night, creating a symphony of healing vibrations that will wash over you, promoting deep relaxation, restful sleep, stress relief, and inner harmony.
Just after the Gongs cease their resonant symphony, a profound silence envelops the space—a sacred pause known as the assimilation time. It is a moment of integration in silence, where the vibrations settle within us, touching the depths of our being.
In this Shunya, this void of sound, we find stillness and presence. It may last for several minutes, allowing us to absorb the healing frequencies that have danced through our cells. And then, like a gentle rebirth, the ceremony may continue.
In this sacred interlude, we’ll honour the silence, the sound, and the spaces in between.
The Ceremony then will continue after this “Shunya”, or Pregnant Silence with the re-birthing sounds of the Wind Chimes, shruti, singing bowls and chanting.
Before breakfast there will be a balancing Qigong session that will re-set us in the body after a deep journey in sounds.
Finally, we’ll gather up in the morning for a light breakfast, snack together, ready and rested, feeling renewed for the days ahead.
We’ll finish by 8AM.
